Try to resist the enticing-looking bar to the front of the building & make your way instead to the restaurant behind, where plush chairs, an open-plan kitchen & kind lighting all add up to a pleasingly unfussy, comfortable space to spend a couple of hours. The kitchen is not big or full of staff, but the menu makes good use of resources. It's well priced & there's a user-friendly wine list to match. Add the relaxed, efficient service to the equation & it's not surprising this local is doing big business.
A delightfully spacious bar and restaurant, Grafton House is popular with the Clapham A-list and a whole host of local media professionals, and is currently making waves all over south London. Marble floors, tropical hardwoods, thoughtful lighting and quirky toilets all fit together to create a thoroughly relaxed atmosphere in which to sink a battalion of fancy drinks. DJs hit the decks at the weekends, and on Friday and Saturday nights the place is buzzing with crowds of sophisticated drinkers.
What a find, Stumbled across Grafton house after taking a wrong turn in Clapham... Staff were super friendly and attentive, cocktails in the bar were made to perfection and the food was great... If only all wrong turnings led to such great nights out...
We eat at this 'local' restaurant often, and the food is routinely and consistently marvellous. The menu is interesting without lapsing into the ridiculous, and the price is less than one would expect for this level of quality and the chic and roomy ambience
The staff are fab, very friendly and the cocktails are delicious. There is a always a real mix of clientele drinking there.
Recently went to the Grafton House Restaurant & Bar for my friends 30th and had an absolutely fab time. We didn't have a sit down dinner, but ordered lots of little plates to share amongst us all. They were so good I reserved a table to go back there this weekend. The cocktails were fab too and I thoroughly recommend their Recovery Cocktail which goes down a treat. The Grafton House Restaurant & Bar is definitely a place to try out.
